FIELD SERVICES / INSTALLATIONS & TRAINING

Installations
& Training.

Piping installation and practical training in one coordinated scope. SAE supports the work on site and prepares client technicians to use the selected tooling, prepare pipework and inspect completed connections.

FROM SUPPLY TO SITE

Install the system. Develop the skills.

SAE provides piping installation support and practical instruction for client technicians. Choose installation delivery, a training programme, or a combined package around your project.

INSTALLATION DELIVERY

What SAE delivers on site.

Book installation support, training for your team, or both. The installation scope sets out the work, personnel, tooling and completion records before mobilisation.

01 / PREPARE

Ready for the work

Review drawings, piping requirements and site access. Confirm the components, tool assemblies, work sequence and client interfaces needed for the installation.

02 / INSTALL

Practical execution

Provide the agreed installation personnel and tooling support for pipe preparation, measurement, fit-up and connection assembly using the selected system’s procedures.

03 / HAND OVER

Checked and recorded

Complete the agreed connection checks and installation records, identify outstanding items and hand over the work. Testing, flushing and commissioning are included only where specified.

PRACTICAL LEARNING OUTCOMES

From preparation to a checked connection.

The programme is designed to develop these six practical skills through demonstration and supervised exercises on the selected equipment.

01

DLT tooling & die selection

Select the appropriate DLT Series hydraulic swaging machine, head and die set for the fitting series and pipe or tube size. Practise equipment checks, correct assembly and controlled operation using the manufacturer’s instructions.

02

Pipe measurement & bending

Read the required dimensions, set out bends and select suitable bending equipment for the pipe material and size. Practise the agreed bending procedure, check alignment and leave straight lengths for fittings and tool access.

03

Surface preparation

Prepare the adjoining pipe ends for a sound connection. Practise square cutting, deburring, cleaning and specified coating removal; inspect the sealing area and check pipe dimensions against the manufacturer’s acceptance criteria.

04

Marking & fit-up

Measure and mark insertion depth with the correct gauge. Position the fitting, check pipe alignment and engagement, and confirm that the assembly and available clearance are suitable before starting the swage.

05

Completing the swage

Position the DLT tool correctly and follow the prescribed sequence for the selected fitting. Practise completing each required swage band, monitoring the operation and recognising when to stop and resolve a setup issue.

06

Inspection & completion

Use the matching inspection gauge and insertion marks to check the completed connection. Recognise an unacceptable result, follow the prescribed corrective procedure and complete the agreed inspection record before handover.

Practical instruction is matched to the selected equipment and current manufacturer procedures. Assessment, certification and any pressure testing or commissioning are agreed separately as part of the project scope.

PEOPLE & EQUIPMENT

Hands-on learning. Site-ready preparation.

For client technicians and maintenance teams working with the selected piping system. Sessions combine demonstration, supervised exercises and review of sample connections; participant experience determines the starting level.

  • Onsite or in-house delivery, subject to a suitable work area and equipment
  • Duration and group size agreed around experience, objectives and practical exercises
  • Assessment and any formal certification confirmed separately before booking
